Probiotic Protein Green Smoothie

Probiotic Protein Green Smoothie

Among all of the green smoothie recipes that I have, this one has got to be one of my favorite green smoothie recipes. It is ideal for sports and fitness participants, after workouts or training, as well as for people suffering from or in recovery from chronic illness.

The Probiotic Protein Green Smoothie is filled with probiotics – living probiotics. Probiotics are an important part of our bodies. They are microorganisms that promote cellular health and are important in rebuilding the immune system.  The source of probiotics that I use is kombucha tea – a fermented tea that consists of a symbiotic colony of helpful bacteria and yeast.  I make my own since it is 95% cheaper to make it than to buy it. If you like immediate self-gratification, you can buy it at most health food stores.

The combination of greens, fruits, and vegetable based proteins make the Probiotic Protein Green Smoothie a staple drink for the fully health-conscious active individual as well as the fitness-driven, full-tilt athlete.

Ingredients:

16 oz chilled raw kombucha tea
4 oz spinach
4 oz kale
1 bananas (frozen optional)
1 mango (frozen optional)
1 cup pineapple (frozen optional)
1/4 cup diced and pitted dates
2 tablespoons coconut oil (or olive oil)
1 tablespoon yellow pea protein
1 tablespoon hemp seed protein
1 tablespoon rice protein
1 teaspoon macca powder
1 cup of ice.

Blend until thoroughly blended.

Makes two adult servings.
